HI WAS WONDERING IF ANY ONE CAN HELP CAUSE I AM RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS. I HAVE A 8 MONTH OLD STAFFYXLAB WHO I REHOMED FROM MUNLOCHY. WHEN I GOT HIM (9 WKS) HE HAD BEEN KEPT IN A PUPPY CAGE FOR MOST OF THE DAY, WHEN I GOT HIM HOME HE HATED BEING LEFT ALONE. I HAVE TRIED BUILDING UP THE TIME HE IS LEFT ALONE (IN A PUPPY CAGE AS HE BECOMES SO ANXIOUS HE IS DESTRUCTIVE) HE IS FINE TO BE LEFT FOR MAX OF 2 AN HALF HOURS AT A TIME BUT UNFORTUNATLY MY CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE CHANGED AND NEED TO LEAVE HIM FOR LONGER AMOUNTS OF TIME. I HAVE BOUGHT A XLARGE PLAY PEN BUT HE HAS EVEN MANAGED TO CLIMB/JUMP OUT OF THIS BUT DONT FEEL I CAN LEAVE HIM IN HIS CAGE. HOPE SOMEONE HAS SOME IDEAS BECAUSE APART FROM THIS HE IS A FAB DOG AND DONT WANT TO HAVE TO REHOME HIM  Sad

Sorry to hear you are having problems.  Have you tried any of the natural remedies for dogs?  'Stay Calm' and Dobson and Horrel's 'Placid' are both pretty good.  They do take a while to get into the system, but definitely worth a try.

Other things to try are have a Kong with food inside, to keep her distracted and remembering not to make any fuss when leaving.

Please keep in touch, all the best
Mandi
